The Green Velvet Montipora is a striking encrusting SPS coral prized for its smooth, velvety surface and rich, fluorescent green coloration. This coral spreads gracefully over rockwork, forming a seamless mat that enhances the texture and depth of your reef aquarium. Information

Montipora are arguably the second most popular small polyp stony coral behind Acropora. Their popularity is well-deserved. Montipora are diverse in color and come in a multitude of growth forms. With just a little bit of searching, a reef hobbyist can find plating, encrusting, or branching varieties of Montipora in just about any texture or color. Montipora also tend to be easier to care for than Acropora making them more appealing to beginner hobbyists looking to try SPS for the first time.

It will require medium lighting.

Water Flow

In general you need medium water movement within the aquarium.

Feeding

It will also benefit from additional food fed weekly in the form of micro-plankton or foods designed for filter feeding invertebrates.

Warning and Handling

The Encrusting Montipora Coral is peaceful and can be placed in close proximity to other similar peaceful corals in the reef aquarium. It is relatively easy to maintain, but should be housed in a mature reef aquarium.
