Despite its common name, the Scooter Red Blenny is not a true blenny but a dragonet species. It spends most of its time slowly gliding over live rock and sand while foraging for microfauna. Its calm nature and reef-safe behavior make it compatible with coral reef aquariums and invertebrates.

This species is best suited for established reef systems with abundant live rock, where natural populations of copepods and amphipods are present. The Scooter Red Blenny is non-aggressive and coexists well with peaceful tankmates, though it may compete with other pod-dependent species in smaller aquariums.
