Mushrooms | Softies | Zoanthids | LPS | SPS
Whether you’re just getting started or collecting rare pieces, we’ll hand-select corals tailored to your reef tank’s lighting, flow, and experience level.
The Pink Tip Frogspawn is a brightly colored coral with contrasting green body and pink/purple tips. Under heavy actinic lighting, the tips can appear more blue/purple. We recommend overnight shipping for this coral.
The frogspawn Euphyllia corals have long tentacles which are covered in small round knobs. For the branching variety Euphyllia the tentacles split off at the ends and each knob starts to form it’s own shorter tentacle branch.
The two common color types of frogspawn are green and brownish gold. This color varies between clear tentacles with a touch of color in the tentacle knobs, to darker pigments with vibrant fluorescent coloration.
Hammers, Torches, and Frogspawn (Euphyllia sp.) do not require as much light as some other corals. It can be kept under normal output fluorescents without much difficulty. In some cases, Hammers may extend more readily under subdued lighting, however it may display more attractive colors when placed under stronger lighting.
Moderate to strong water movement is recommended. One of the main draws to this type of LPS coral is how it sways in the current. Water flow is both healthy for the Hammer and is pleasing aesthetically.
Feeding frogspawn coral in a home aquarium setting is full of options. In their natural habitat, this coral gets its nutrients from organic matter and food particles that get caught. It also utilizes algae as another great source of nutrition.
